Question by Lee: yahoo-finance is this legit?
I found a 1994 jeep on AutoTraderClassic.com the asking price was $ 3444. I contacted autotrader for more info and they asked me for my name phone number and email address. I was then contacted quickly from the seller I was given info about the jeep and it was located in reno nevada and I am in michigan. The seller said he was able to ship the vehicle via DAS shipping but the price was $ 3444 and had a clear title 92,000 miles no maintenance need no dings or dents and he would pay the shipping here. I then offered $ 2500 for the jeep after a few emails back and forth he agreed on the price. I offered to fly out to Reno to look at the vehicle and drive it back he declined by saying he was out of town and he would accept the money through yahoo finance which allows us 5 days upon receipt to accept the vehicle if we were not satisfied we merely decline and DAS would pick the vehicle up at no charge. I then received an email from Yahoo-Finance stating the selling price as well as a transaction id all I had to do was get a moneygram e-transfer and once the money was received they would contact the seller for the shipment to begin. The yahoo cashiers agent was listed as Aaron Barlow he was to be the beneficiary and the expected payout location was Miami, FL. I was given a Walmart location nearest to me and followed all of the instructions to a tee. After I paid the $ 96 moneygram fee I was to fax the moneygram receipt to Yahoo. I did this and then followed up with the seller and yahoo with the moneygram confirmation numbers. I received an email from Yahoo-Finance stating that within 24-48 hrs the seller would be contacted by them and the vehicle would ship. This was last wednesday august 19th I have emailed both the seller and yahoo-finance and have received no responses. I decided today to check into DAS Shipping that is when I discovered DAS Scams?.and went on to read many car hoaxes using DAS as the shipping source. Any advice?? Do I file I police report? I contacted the original advertiser AutoTrader and was told the ad had been removed for fraud. HELP

Yahoo Finance doesn?t do any money transfers. You?ve been scammed. Congratulations on sending $ 2500 with no research whatsoever.
I?m guessing the email address you dealt with was something like finance@yahoo.com, which could be anybody.
