Southampton Rangers retained the Western County Cup after winning by 7 wickets over Somerset Bridge Recreation Club this weekend.
At the White Hill Field in their Second Round match Champions Southampton Rangers won the toss and elected to send the Somerset Bridge Recreation Club to bat.
Somerset Bridge Recreation Club were bowled all out for 57, guest player Greg Maybury was the top scorer with 19, while captain Shawn Riley added 12. Dwayne Leverock was the pick of the Southampton Rangers bowlers returning figures of 7-0-22-3, while Derrick Brangman bowled 7-3-5-2 and Janeiro Tucker bowled 7-2-7-2.
In reply the Southampton Rangers loss three wickets on their way to winning the match by 7 wickets. Captain Dion Stovell was their top scorer with 15 not out, Brangman added 12 and Dean Richards scored 10. Maybury was the pick of the Somerset Bridge Recreation Club?s bowlers with figures of 4.5-0-29-2.
