ADTOI plans 2 FAM trips for members to South India

The Association of Domestic Tour Operators of India (ADTOI) is set to organise two Familiarisation (FAM) trips, one to Kerala and another one to Mysore and Coorg in Karnataka soon. Twenty members from ADTOI will be attending each FAM trip. The trip to Kerala will be sponsored by Abad Hotels & Resorts while a private hospitality company based in Karnataka will be sponsoring the FAM trip to Mysore and Coorg.

Talking about the trips, Subhash Verma, President, ADTOI, said, ?The main focus is to provide first-hand destination experience to ADTOI members in order to make them sell destination effectively. Besides Kerala is one of the leading Domestic Tourism destinations in India. This kind of activity will increase the inflow of domestic tourists to Kerala. Mysore and Coorg in Karnataka are new domestic destinations on the block. Very few travellers have explored these places so the FAM trip will help members attract more travellers to the destinations.?

Furthermore, ADTOI is also in a discussion with state tourism boards namely Rajasthan and Gujarat to organise their 2013 annual convention. Last year, the Convention was held in Jammu & Kashmir. ?We will finalise the convention destination and venue by next week,? added Verma.

Besides, for ensuring better functioning of domestic travel trade in India, ADTOI has recently formed different sub-committees namely IT Committee, Coordination Committee for Hotel Relations, Railways, Airlines, National Tourism Boards & Road Shows, Membership Drive and Service Tax. Each committee is headed by a chairman and two co-opted members from general house and will function as a recommending body to Executive Counsel, informed P P Khanna, Vice President, ADTOI.
