The guys of 1D are known for being pretty goofy, but recently, two of the five boy band members took a break from showing off their silly side -- and their many upcoming projects -- to talk about a more serious topic.
In a new video, Harry Styles and Liam Payne sat down to explain that 1 in 3 people will develop cancer at some point in their lives, which is why they are coming together with prizeo.com to raise awareness.
"Cancer affects us all in some way, and we all know of someone whose had it, whether it be a parent, a member of our family, a friend or a neighbor," says Harry. Watch Liam and Harry's message in the video above.
According to MTV.com, the bandmates are asking for donations in an effort to educate about lifestyle choices to help prevent cancer among young people. By donating, fans are automatically put in the running for a big (read: amazing) reward.
Partnering with Trekstock -- an organization that supports youth with cancer -- the grand-prize winner will fly out to London with a friend for a night out on the town with the boys. The winner will be selected at random.
What could be better than a free trip to London? Hanging out with two-fifths of 1D, obviously.
